Using BuddyPress with Divi

Written by Dan Mossop

Integrating BuddyPress with the Divi theme can enhance your community site with rich social networking features while maintaining a professional and cohesive design. However, you might encounter some formatting issues when you first set up BuddyPress on a Divi-powered website.

Fix Layout Problems with BuddyPress on Divi

When you install BuddyPress on your Divi site, you might notice large spaces at the top of the pages and missing styles that affect the layout of the header and footer, make the pages look a mess. This can happen due to conflicts between Divi's dynamic CSS feature and BuddyPress's styles.

Fix: Disabling Divi's Dynamic CSS

One effective solution is to disable Divi's dynamic CSS. This helps to resolve the missing styles and layout issues on BuddyPress pages. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to "Divi > Theme Options".
  3. Go to the "General" tab (which should be showing by default).
  4. Click on the "Performance" sub-tab.
  5. Disable "Dynamic CSS".

Disabling the dynamic CSS ensures that the BuddyPress components style correctly, eliminating gaps and weird layouts.
