Adjust the Space Between Items in Divi Bullet and Numbered Lists

Written by Dan Mossop

Currently, Divi module settings do not support altering the space between numbered / bullet list items alone. Here's how to increase the space between items in a bullet list or numbered list with a Divi module.

Before
After

Note: the "Unordered/Ordered List Line Height" option can be used to enlarge gaps between items, although it broadens the space between lines within the same item too.

To solely change the vertical space between bullet or numbered list items, while preserving the spacing within list elements, apply the following CSS code to your site:

.list_spacing ul > li,
.list_spacing ol > li {
	margin-top: 10px;
}

To apply this tweaked spacing, insert a "list_spacing" CSS class to any module where the modification is needed. Add the CSS class via:

Module Settings > Advanced > CSS ID & Classes > CSS Class

This CSS rule introduces an additional 10 pixels of space at the before each list item, increasing the separation between the items and also between the items and the text above.

  1. Hi Dan

    Do you think there is a working update to this code-snippet? I tried applying this to a text module on Divi site version 4.27.2 but it has no effect.

    • Hi Bo, I just tested and this is still working for me in v4.27.2. If you're still trying to get it to work, first check to ensure the "list_spacing" class has been added to the text module as it won't work without that. Then clear any caches you're using on the site to make sure the latest version is showing. If it still doesn't work after that, is there any chance you're able to share a link to an example page so that I can take a look for you? Thanks!
