  5. Hi Dan,

Amazing work you're doing with Divi Booster, I can't wait. One suggestion I have is navigation between individual projects which have been built with the page builder. When you view an individual project, you're kind of at a dead end. Every other theme I've used that has a portfolio function also has some sort of Next/Previous nav at the top of each individual project to move between projects, and often a 'back to portfolio page' symbol (four little squares). In Divi there's nothing, which makes each project feel like a dead end.

Also, just out of interest, I don't think I've ever heard of anybody building new third party modules for the Divi page builder. Is that something which is prohibitively difficult or problematic to do?

    Thanks,
    Dan

    • Thanks Dan :)

Yeah, it'd make sense to have better navigation on the projects. When I get a chance I'll take a look and see what can be done.

I really want to build some third party modules! I haven't heard anyone else do it either, but I've been thinking about it for a while. I haven't sat down yet to figure out if it is possible. This is definitely one to watch from Divi Booster in the future. And of course, if I figure it out I'll do a write up so everyone can create their own modules.

  6. My kingdom for control of Section spacing! Row spacing would be a great bonus!

  7. Dan, this sounds awesome… and I've already implemented some of your great customizations "the old-fashioned way."

I came straight here after reading Keith's announcement/recommendation on his Divi Post Updates, and now I've signed up for YOUR list so that I'll know as soon as the plugin is available.

    Great job! Can't wait!

  8. Great news. I'm building a good few sites with Divi at the moment and anything that speeds the workflow is a bonus – sometimes it seems like I have hundreds of lines in the custom css box!

Another suggestion would be to streamline the out-of-the-box css. Its massive! if I'm not using woocommerce why have the css included, etc? I love streamlining code and Divi just seems very heavy in this respect but cleaning this up may be a step too far!

Assuming this is a paid for plugin what sort of cost will it be? Need a beta tester?

    • Hey Steven, I really like this idea. I really want to add a "Make Divi Faster" option in the plugin, which would do a bunch of optimizations like this. I like the idea of stripping out the CSS for unused components. I'll definitely be looking into this in the future, even if it is a step to far!!

The plugin will have an initial price of $15. I'll be offering a 35% discount to everyone who signs up to my mailing list above, which will bring it in under 10 dollars.

Thanks for the offer to beta test. I've actually got enough people looking at the beta version already so I hope you won't mind if I decline on this occasion. Sorry mate and thanks again!

        • Hey Gui, it looks like mailchimp is rejecting your email address (I think this is because it's a disposable address). I can't add it via the Mailchimp dashboard either (as per your request in your other comment, which I won't publish to protect the email address). Sorry about that. If you have a permanent address you're happy to sign up with, you could try that. Otherwise I'm happy to send you out an email when I launch (including details of the discount).

  10. This sounds like a great plugin. A few features I would love to see… Some may be outside the plugin remit, but here goes anyway…

There is no provision for common or global elements. For example if I need a slider on every page with the same slides, if I need to change one, I have to change it on every page. If we could have global elements that are the same on every instance then this would be a great improvement.

The boxed width of 1200px is too wide. To have a few options here of say 1200, 1000, 900, etc would be a great improvement.

More full width options would be great. Currently you cannot have a text block of full width. It would be great to have more full width options such as a text block.

It would be great to have block that only takes shortcodes rather than inserting into a text block and the possibility that someone adds some extra wrong html.

The divider: It would be great to have control over the spacing both above and below.

Spacing Spacing Spacing. The spacing/margin/padding between sections is dreadfully large. Lets have control over this.

Top bar: more control over the position of the items such as phone number and email on one side and social media icons on the right, change the colour, social media icons, etc.

More blog layouts. The standard with the massive photo as the featured image takes up far too much space. The old fashioned square featured images works so well.

    • Great suggestions, Steven. I'll definitely try to add options for these to the plugin (though it may take a little while!). I love the idea of common / global elements. One of the first things I'll be looking at is the spacing – it's a sore point for a lot of people (myself included)!
