Make Divi Builder Settings Pop-Ups Full-Screen

Written by Dan Mossop

The Divi Theme comes with a drag and drop page builder, called the Divi Builder. While it has a simple, clean presentation, the padding and large buttons can make it feel a bit claustrophobic on smaller screens. With a bit of a CSS tweak we can make it a nice spacious full-screen settings page.

Here's how it looks normally:

Here's how it looks in full-screen mode:

Using Divi Booster to make the Divi Builder settings full-screen

I've added a new feature in my Divi Booster plugin to enable full-screen Divi Builder settings editing. To access it, go into the Divi Booster settings page ("Divi > Divi Booster" from the WordPress dashboard). You'll find the setting under "Divi Builder > Standard Builder", like so:

Technical Details – Making the Divi Builder settings full-screen

Here's the CSS that Divi Booster uses to achieve the full-screen effect:

.et-pb-preview-tab { width: 100% !important; }
.et_pb_modal_settings_container, .et_pb_prompt_modal {
	top:32px !important;
	bottom:0 !important;
	width:100%! important;
	left:0 !important;
	margin:0 !important;
	border-radius: 0 !important;
}
.et_pb_prompt_modal {
	top: 100px !important;
	bottom: 0 !important;
}
div.et_pb_prompt_modal div.et_pb_prompt_buttons input.et_pb_prompt_proceed {
	border-radius: 0px !important;
}
.et-pb-options-tabs-links{
	width:100% !important;
}
div.et_pb_modal_overlay.et_pb_builder_settings .et_pb_prompt_modal,
div[data-action].et_pb_modal_overlay .et_pb_prompt_modal {
	top: 32px !important;
}
.et_pb_modal_settings_container div.mce-fullscreen {
    top: 32px !important;
    left: 0 !important;
    width: 100% !important;
    margin: 0 !important;
    bottom: 0 !important;
}

/* Make the code module content box wider */
[data-module_type="et_pb_code"] [data-option_name="raw_content"] .et-pb-option-container {
    width: calc(100% - 480px) !important;
}
[data-module_type="et_pb_code"] [data-option_name="raw_content"] .et-pb-option-container textarea {
    width: 100% !important;
}

    • Hi susan, are you able to tell me which version of Divi Builder you're using – i.e. the classic builder, the front-end visual builder or the back-end visual builder? I designed this for the classic builder (when it was the dominant builder), but if you're using one of the other builders I'll look into the options for doing something similar with them. Thanks!

    • Hi Kevin, sorry for the confusion. To access it, go into the Divi Booster settings page (“Divi > Divi Booster” from the WordPress dashboard). You’ll find the setting under “Divi Builder > Standard Builder”. I've updated the post above with this info. Hope that helps!
