I tried to update the plugin this morning and was met with this message: http://d.pr/i/YEof
Hi Greg, Sorry you've been having problems updating. I recently changed the library I use to generate the plugin zip file, and unfortunately it looks like the zip files it generates have been getting rejected by some WordPress installations. I've gone back to the old method of generating the zip file and have just released an update to Divi Booster. If you try the update again now it should hopefully succeed. Please let me know if you're still getting the error.
Can you please add an option to have a full width video slider?
thanks

Hi Alexis, I'll look into doing this. Unless I'm mistaken, I think you can sort of achieve it by adding a full width image slider and setting a background video on a slide. But I think it will lack video controls, etc, so a full width video slider would certainly be useful. I'll let you know if / when I manage to come up with anything. Thanks.
Hi there – I believe I have an old version of this and am not sure how to log in or get the newest one…suggestions?
Hi Ryan, this post explains how to update Divi Booster to the latest version:
https://divibooster.com/updating-divi-booster-plugin/
I've just resent your purchase confirmation email (which contains the download link and license key) should you need it. You can also access your purchase details by registering an account using the email address you supplied when you purchased the plugin.
Dan, fantastic plugin but using the add header portion I've put a 1200 x 190 header image in and my 'mentor' says it's too big. If I make it smaller it just blows up the image and pixelates it. Any recommended size to reduce the height to maybe 130 -140 and look sharp?
Hi Abi, I'm working on an improved version of this feature which will allow more control over the layout. The current version of the feature stretches the image to full width, but you may be able to work around it by shrinking the image (e.g. in paint or photoshop) to the desired height and then expanding it to the full screen width by adding blank space on the left and right (so you may end up with an image of say 1200 x 135).
I hope that helps, and I'll let you know when the feature update is released.
Hi Dan. I was trying to uninstall and reinstall the plugin to see if I could get the instagram icon to work with the booster so I could remove extra code from file and I deactivated the activation key and now I can not find where I had put it. Would there be any way you could send it to me. I sent you an email also with the names and email addresses I would have purchased it under.
Thanks!
Hi Dawn, I've just sent you the activation key by email. Thanks.
Hi Dan, happy new year.
I've been using Divi Booster on the new Extra theme from ET, mainly as a quick way to modify the footer, are you planning an Extra specific version? I'd highly recommend you do.
Happy new year, Tim. It's definitely on the cards. I'm hoping to get a first version out in the near future. In the meantime I've started a site for Extra customization tips (http://extrabooster.com) that may be of interest to you.
Thanks and good luck with it, I'll keep sending you through the bits I've found useful as I go.
Thanks Tim!
Hi Dan
I've used Divi Booster to add an image above the header on a client website. The client would like an image slider here rather than a static image – do you know of any way to do this?
Many thanks!
Gaye
Hi Gaye, I'm not aware of any way to do it at the moment. If I'm able to figure it out, I'll be sure to let you know.
Hi Dan,
I'm having a problem with Divi Booster… my blog posts have a huge white space above them when Divi Booster is activated, and I have no idea what setting I would change to fix it! Check out this page: http://alphadogsystems.com/2016/01/thank-you-for-a-wonderful-year/
Hi Andrea,
The gap was caused by the "Posts > Make featured images as wide as the content area" setting. A recent change in Divi caused the setting to stop working correctly. I've just released an update to the plugin (1.8.9) to fix this. If you update the plugin, you should find that the featured image is moved to fill the gap (and expanded to fill the width of the post and sidebar area). If you don't want the feature image displayed like this, you can disable the feature. Thanks for letting me know. Dan
Hi Dan,
I've updated the plugin, disabled the feature, cleared local cache, browser cache and cloudflare, and it still seems to be doing it. Is it just me?
Hi Andrea,
Despite your efforts, I think the old code is still being cached. I can see the code the feature adds in your site's CSS files. Specifically, the code is in the combined CSS file produced by the Better Wordpress Minify plugin. This plugin has it's own cache – if you haven't already, go into its settings and press the "flush cache" button. You may then need to clear the other caches again if the change doesn't show up right away. Assuming this doesn't work, I suggest going into the Better WordPress Minify plugin settings and remove the Divi Booster CSS file and JavaScript files (look for files called "wtfdivi") from the minified file. Now check if this has cleared up the issue. If so, you may should be able to add them back in to the minified file and have it keep working correctly. Finally, if none of this works, I'd do a double check just to make sure the feature has definitely been disabled in Divi Booster (i.e. that if you reload the settings page the feature's checkbox remains unchecked). Let me know if none of this helps…
That did it, thank you. I had to remove the files from BWP Minify, flushing the cache didn't do it either.
I really appreciate all the help, I love Divi Booster so much!
You're welcome, Andrea. I'm glad you got it working!
Thanks for the Booster; it's been really helpful. I have a feature request; a tweak of the countdown timer to remove the leading zeros on the days. The 3 digits on the day field cause some weird wrapping stuff on narrow browsers and mobiles.
Thanks!
Thanks Shannon. I've just updated Divi Booster to include an option to remove the leading zero on days. Note that it always leaves at least two digits (for consistency with the rest), so:
123 days becomes 123
012 days becomes 12
001 days becomes 01
Hope that makes sense. If you update to the latest version of Divi Booster, you'll find the option under "Modules > Countdown".
Thanks Dan; that was incredibly responsive! I've made the change and it's awesome, it fixed a mobile problem I was having. For the next release, can you look at tweaking the days digit location? On desktop browsers, the days digits are a bit low, when I make the browser narrow, the days digits go a bit too high. On iphone Safari, they're dead on. On full-size ipad, they're a bit low and on iPad mini (w/Safari), they're all in a big pile, illegible. It stays that way when I turn off the setting in Booster too so IDK what that's about. Thanks again for your responsiveness.
Hey Shannon, I've just updated Divi Booster to solve this problem in a better way. It now actually removes the leading zero using jQuery, rather than trying to hide it with CSS. As a result, the days should now be consistently aligned with the other digits in all browsers. Let me know if you spot any further issues with it. Cheers!
Great work with the plugin Dan! I must say I am very pleased with this plugin, as I used it on all my divi sites. Also, give a big pat on your back from me for resolving the issue I emailed you so quickly. You are a superstar. Thanks Dan. Keep up the great work mate!
Hi, when you change the colour of something in Divi, there's a box with a colour selector, and at the bottom, there's some ready made colours – black white, red, brown etc.
My designer has already given me a selection of set colours for my graphic design. Is there any way to set my own selected colour choice at the bottom of that? or is it a wordpress thing?
Thanks!
Hi Chris,
I'm not aware of any way to modify these. Taking a quick look, I think Divi is using the standard WordPress "iris" library for this. I haven't tried it out, but this forum thread looks like it may hold the key:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/universally-change-iris-palette
If I get a chance I'll test it out against Divi, but you may want to give it a go without waiting on me.
I found this – Not sure if it's in your remit though :-) http://www.divi-magazine.com/add-your-colors-to-the-wordpress-color-picker/
Thanks Chris, it looks useful. One thing to note is that you'd need to redo it each time Divi is updated.
Hi Dan,
I've been trying to figure out how to get my portfolio images smaller so they're not cropped within the box like you see here. http://redesign.sweetboodesign.com/the-work/
Is there a way to make smaller boxes, perhaps with some space between them? Does it have to do with the size of the images uploaded in projects? I purchased your Divi Booster hoping to find a solution but I'm still stuck. I also tried putting in the Custom CSS in the ePanel, but no luck. Would love to figure this out. Thanks so much!!
Hi Cheryl,
Divi Booster didn't previously have options to do what you want with fullwidth portfolios, so I've added them. If you update to the latest version (1.8.6), you should see new options under "Modules > Portfolio (Full Width)". I think the combination of the two of these together should do what you need. I've also put up a couple of posts describing the effect the options aim to achieve:
https://divibooster.com/stop-fullwidth-portfolio-images-from-being-cropped/
https://divibooster.com/add-space-between-fullwidth-portfolio-items/
Dan,
Thanks so much for your reply! It helped! One more question . . . In my slider images that I'm using on my headers, the images are coming in much larger and cropped than they are as their original images. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks and Happy New Year!
Hi Cheryl, and Happy New Year to you too! It sounds like you are using the parallax effect for the slider. The parallax setting needs to make the image taller than the visible area of the slider (so that as you scroll up or down, more of the image is revealed). This means that Divi needs to make images larger (if they are the same height as the slider), and hides the top and bottom to be revealed upon scrolling. It's fundamental to the way parallax works, so there's no easy fix, but you could try either of the following. If you can get away without it, disabling parallax should fix the stretching / cropping. Otherwise, if you can increase the height of your images (e.g. by adding some blank space top and bottom), then this should reduce Divi's need to expand / hide your actual image. Be aware though that this added space may become visible as you scroll, so you may need to play around to find something that suits you.
Hi Dan,
Any chance you could add some extra parallax functionality to the Divi builder with your Booster plugin? At the moment it can only be added to backgrounds, but it would be good to be able to add it to any image module and also have some extra options to change the direction (up and down) and perhaps the speed of the parallax (like in Visual Composer). WOuld this be possible?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Cheers,
Tim
The extra parallax functionality is definitely something Divi would benefit from. I've added it to my todo list and will let you know if I manage to implement anything – though it may take me some time to get to. Thanks.
