Make an Entire Divi Text Module Linked

Written by Dan Mossop

Making an entire Text Module clickable in Divi can significantly improve navigation and user experience on your website. Here's how you can accomplish this using Divi's built-in settings or a bit of custom CSS for better accessibility.

Using the Module URL Link Setting

Divi includes a built-in Module URL Link setting, which you can use to make your entire Text Module clickable.

To use it, open the text module settings and navigate to:

Text Settings > Content > Link > Module Link URL

Input your desired URL in this field and save the module settings.

Note that Divi adds this link via JavaScript, rather than as a HTML link.

Manually Wrapping the Content in a Link

For those who need more control and better accessibility, you can manually wrap the content of the Text Module in an anchor tag and resize it to cover the full text module with some custom CSS.

First, open the text module settings and navigate to the "Text Settings > Content > Text > Body" setting

Then wrap the entire text module content in a HTML link using either the "link" button on the "visual" tab's toolbar, or by manually adding a HTML link (<a> tag) around your content in the "Text" tab.

Then go to "Text Settings > Advanced > Custom CSS > Free-Form CSS" and add the following CSS:

selector .et_pb_text_inner,
selector a {
    height: 100%;
    width: 100%;
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    display: block;
}

This CSS code should resize the link to fill the full area of the text module, making it fully clickable.

Wrapping the content in an anchor tag in this way enhances accessibility, especially for users who rely on keyboards for navigation. It ensures that your clickable areas are properly identified as links, providing a smoother user experience.
