Keep Standard Divi Footer in Divi Den Pro

News: Divi Code Snippet Module now supports Divi 5

Written by Dan Mossop

The Divi Den Pro plugin makes it easy to apply a large library of layouts to various parts of the Divi Theme. For instance, it contains a number of pre-designed footer layouts which can be applied to the site. The selected footer layout will replace the built-in Divi footer (i.e. the credit links). If you want to keep the default Divi footer displaying after the Divi Den Pro footer, you can do so in one of the following ways:

Keeping the Default Footer using Divi Booster

Divi Booster includes an option to set custom footer HTML. This option is located on the Divi Booster settings page at "Footer > Replace footer links with this text / HTML".

As of Divi Booster 2.8.6, enabling the custom footer will cause the Divi footer (modified by Divi Booster) to display, even if a Divi Den Pro footer has been set.

If you are using Divi Den Pro and don't want the Divi Booster custom footer to show, you can simply disable the option within the Divi Booster settings. In this case the default Divi Footer will not be shown; it will instead be hidden by Divi Den Pro as normal.

Preserving the Default Divi Footer using PHP Code

The following PHP code will force the default Divi Footer to display, when it has been hidden by Divi Den Pro:

/* === Keep Divi footer in Divi Den Pro === */

add_action('init', 'db_ddp_preserve_footer');

function db_ddp_preserve_footer() {

	// Ensure WP's plugin.php is loaded
	include_once(ABSPATH.'wp-admin/includes/plugin.php');

	// If Divi Den Pro installed, modify the footer id
	if (is_plugin_active('ddpro/ddpro.php')) {
		add_action('wp_footer', 'db_ddp_change_footer_id', 9);
		add_action('wp_footer', 'db_ddp_restore_footer_id', 11);
	}
}

function db_ddp_change_footer_id() {
	?>
	<script>
	(function($) {
		$('footer#main-footer').attr("id","main-footer-tmp");
	})(jQuery);
	</script>
	<?php
}

function db_ddp_restore_footer_id() {
	?>
	<script>
	(function($) {
		$('footer#main-footer-tmp').attr("id","main-footer");
	})(jQuery);
	</script>
	<?php
}

/* === END: Keep Divi footer in Divi Den Pro === */
