Divi and Protect the Children Compatibility

News: Divi Code Snippet Module now supports Divi 5

Written by Dan Mossop

The Protect the Children plugin lets you extend the password protection on a parent page to all its children pages in one go, to save you having to password protect each child page individually.

However, when used with the Divi theme's Theme Builder it enables password protection on Theme Builder custom header and footer layouts. This can lead to the situation where there are three password boxes on the child page – one for each of the header, content and footer layouts.

To disable the password protection of the header and footer, you can use the following PHP code:

add_action('template_redirect', 'dbc_ptc_disableOnTbHeaderFooter');

function dbc_ptc_disableOnTbHeaderFooter() {
	add_filter('post_password_required', 'dbc_ptc_disablePasswordOnHeaderFooterLayouts', 11, 2);
}
function dbc_ptc_disablePasswordOnHeaderFooterLayouts($required, $post) {
	if (isset($post->post_type)) {
		if (in_array($post->post_type, array('et_header_layout', 'et_footer_layout'))) {
			return false;
		}
	}
	return $required;
}
