Hundreds of new features for Divi
in one easy-to-use plugin
Thanks for making this great, plugin. Bought it right away. I have a notepad doc. full of CSS for some of the features listed. Won't be needing to use that as much anymore. I look forward to future updates. One feature i wouldn't mind having is making the Main header transparent. thanks again
Erik A
Thanks Erik! I'll definitely be adding a transparent main header in a future release.
Hi Just purchased the plugin – but I am relatively new to Wordpress and Divi so excuse me if this is an obvious point.
Enabling the page builder for posts – posts include the sidebar by default so which layout should you choose so that the post is built in the correct two thirds ( or is three Quarters?) allocated to it. If you choose a full page layout then it will overlap the sidebar. Is this explained anywhere?
Thanks for creating this – very helpful to not have custom coding overwritten by the theme updates as has just happened with Divi 2.3 release.
Cliff
Hey Cliff, with the default sidebar setting, the three quarters layout should work best. Yes, a full width page layout overlaps the sidebar – this is caused by the way pagebuilder works, though I want to come up with a solution that hides this from Divi Booster users. I need to document / explain the current situation better. Keith Davis has done a good job of explaining it over at divitheme.co.uk, but I'll add something here too, until I have a fix in place.
Hi Dan,
Let me begin with a BIG thank you.
I’m struggling with my rss feed.
http://mirakelsmedjan.se/feed/
The number of character is 55 in the tag description. I would like to have it 160.
Does this plugin fix that?
Best Regards
Leif
Hey Leif, it's not currently a feature of the plugin, but I'll try to add it in a future update.
I'm new to Divi and everyday I learn something new. What is the difference between CSS Hero and Divi Booster?
Hi Shirley,
Excuse the cut and paste answer, but I've been asked this a couple of times already so I have one ready to go…
Hope that all makes sense!
Hi Dan,
Thanks for your swift reply which I really appreciate. Having both will certainly help a newbie like me to get clients and be able to do the site impressively and in short time.
The Divi User Group in Facebook is awesome but at times, the massive load of information is just so overwhelming and with all the "coding" talk, I just get so lost. I am feeling like just to have the theme Divi coupled with CSS Hero and now your Divi Booster is superb !
Thanks and I hope you will continue to improve and add more to help people like me earn a decent living out of designing websites.
Cheers !
Hi Dan,
Great idea doing this, but the only problem is if your like me and don't really know what most of the stuff does, as I'm only working with WordPress a couple of months, I don't suppose you've any videos showing what each does? For example Hide the header bottom border! It might seem funny but I've no idea what that is/does – like 90% of the other things your plugin does.
Regards
Hi Dec,
You're absolutely right, I need to document the plugin a lot better and plan to do so over the coming weeks. One thing you can do for many of the options is click the blue "i" icon to the right of the option on the Divi Booster settings page. This takes you to the original post I wrote about the option. The level of detail in these does vary, but hopefully it'll explain some of them for you. Like I say, I'll be looking to improve the documentation very soon, and adding video is a great idea.
By the way, "Hide the header bottom border" removes that thin grey line that separates the Divi header from the rest of the page. I'll add some screenshots when I document it.
Thanks!
Dan!
Can you make it possible to COPY/PAST a module from one Section to another?
I'll look into adding this to a future version of the plugin, Prema. If I can figure out how to do it, that is!
Sounds a great plugin! One question – when the Divi theme builders do an update that could erase some of the css changes I've made with your plugin. Do you have a way to export/backup the changes? Thanks.
Thanks Theresa! My plugin doesn't actually edit the Divi Theme files and so an update to the Divi Theme won't erase any CSS settings you make with the plugin. There is of course the chance that some of them will stop working, but I'll do my very best to get everything up and running again as quickly as possible. If you're concerned you can always let me know and I'll try and get the plugin updated before you upgrade so that everything is working when you do the Divi Theme upgrade.
Also, yes, there's an option to export and import all your Divi Booster settings (under "Developer Tools"). But as I say, a Divi Theme upgrade won't actually erase them.
A few questions / concerns before I buy:
– What happens when Elegant Themes fixes the bugs you fix with this plug-in? Won't that introduce conflicts between Divi and Divi Booster?
– If you generate .htaccess rules, what about those of us who are running Nginx which handles .htaccess differently than Apache does?
Thanks!
Hey Dave, great questions!
It'll depend of course on how Elegant Themes fix the bugs. For many of the fixes it's likely that they would just overwrite or cancel out mine. But there's is always the possibility of a conflict. If this occurs you will be able to resolve it immediately by disabling the corresponding option in Divi Booster (a bit of trial and error might be needed if you don't know exactly which bugs ET have fixed – but their changelog should tell you). And as soon as a new Divi update is out I'll retest all my fixes and update Divi Booster as necessary to remove any conflicts.
I'm not sure about the .htaccess rules on Nginx. I'll try that out as soon as I get a chance. For now the only option in Divi Booster that modifies the .htaccess rules is the option to change the map module pin icon. While I look into this you may want to avoid using the option (or at least trying it on a test site first).
I hope that answers your questions!
Excellent answers, Dan. Always appreciate direct and responsive.
Bought the plug–in – well done.
Can you make a fix for text that is difficult to read, like Light/Dark Text on Dark/Light Overlay? (See first Slider Image at above URL)?
I've had a lot of requests for this one, and will try and come up with a fix for it soon. Thanks!
Do I need to activate or deactivate the Divi Child Theme before I install Divi Booster?
Hi Prema, there's no need to activate or deactivate the Divi Child Theme. Divi Booster will work whether it's there or not. It also won't stop the child theme from working. Divi Booster works without making any changes to your theme (Divi or a child), so it should always work in harmony with Divi Child Theme, CSS Hero or any other plugins you install.
In your next upgrade, please consider moving the Acccordion Button to the right, instead the left of each panel.
Sure thing, I'll look into adding that, Prema. Thanks.
Dan,
My bad. I meant to say: lease consider moving the Acccordion Button to the left, instead the right of each panel.
Okay, got it :)
Divi seems to have A LOT of limitations that I am not used to using Dreamweaver or Artisteer.
Just one is the ability to add a simple background image. Currently, when I add a background image, it sits in front of the page that should be white with black text…an example that I am trying to recreate: http://pattyspartytrays.com
When I try to add the background it either:
1. Puts the background on front so you can't even read the text because the what should be the background image is there.
2. It puts it in a little tiny strip at the top.
Also, if you go to that page, you will see I have a red triangle in front of the sidebar links. I can't seem to do that either.
I have had a couple of people suggest just put in the background from the page module layout…tried that…did not work. So frustrating.
Can your plugin do these things? If so let me know.
Thanks,
Lynn
Hi Lynn, it can't do these yet but they'd certainly be great features to have. I'll look at trying to implement them in a future update of the plugin.
