Hundreds of new features for Divi
in one easy-to-use plugin
hi, i bought the booster plugin and try to implement it but get the following error when entering the key:
details
Error: cURL error 35: Unknown SSL protocol error in connection to divibooster.com:443
Can you please help out?
best regards
Hi Melina, this error can occur if your server only supports older versions of the SSL protocol. While it's possible to update the SSL libraries on your server to solve this (your webhost should be able to do this for you), there is another, easier way to address it. If you download and manually install the latest version of Divi Booster, you will not be required to enter a key (as recent versions have updates enabled by default) and hence bypass this issue. I hope that helps!
Hi again,
the first solution is unfortunately not possible.
for the second solution: does it mean i have to buy the plugin again and the old one is invalid??
best regards
Hi Melina, there's no need to buy the plugin again – your original purchase gives you lifetime updates / access to the latest version at any time. I've just resent your purchase confirmation email, which contains the download link for the latest version. If you remove the version currently on your site and upload this latest version instead you'll then receive any future updates automatically without needing to enter your license key. I hope that helps / makes sense. Thanks!
Can you add social media icons other than the standard FB, Twitter, Google+ to the footer with Divi Booster?
Hi Ryan, yes you can. Divi Booster has the ability to add 160 or so other social media icons alongside the standard ones. Once installed, go to "Divi > Theme Customizer > Divi Booster > Social Media Icons" to select the icons you want to display / set the URLs they link to. Thanks!
Hi Dan,
Can you let me know if Divi Booster will allow me to add social media icons for Linkedin and Instagram in both the Secondary Menu and Bottom bar (next to the default icons for Twitter etc).
Hi Donal, yes Divi Booster has the ability to add 160 or so other social media icons alongside the standard ones, including LinkedIn and Instagram. Once installed, go to "Divi > Theme Customizer > Divi Booster > Social Media Icons" to select the icons you want to display / set the URLs they link to. Thanks!
Hello,
Is DIVI booster need with the release of DIVI 3.0?
Hi, most of the options added by Divi Booster are still not available in Divi 3.0, and I’m frequently adding new ones. So it is certainly still useful to a lot of people. Whether you personally need it will depend on what you’re hoping to do. If you’d like to let me know what that is, I’ll be happy to advise you. Thanks!
I have activated Divi Booster on some sites but I am not sure if I really use any of the Booster features.
There is a lot of features to click trough looking for options that I use.
My question is: is there any easy way to find the options/features I use in the plugin? Tried to export my settings, hoping that I could open that file and see some kind of log. But the export file is not recogniced by any application on my Mac.Can I open the .conf file in any way or is it just for import on other sites? Will I find a 'used features log' in the file if I can open it?
Hi Hilmar, there isn't currently a way to easily view which options are enabled. I'm hoping to make improve the settings page to add this in the future. The export file does contain this information, but it's not something that is going to be easily readable / understood (it's zip-encoded representation of the database option Divi Booster stores its settings in). If you like, send the export files to me and I'll take a look for you (if you send me a message via the contact form you should receive an automated response that you can reply / add attachments to). Other than that, the best (though somewhat laborious) way at the moment is to expand all the headings on the settings page and then scan down looking for checked boxes. Thanks!
How many "site speed" issues does Divi Booster solve?
TD
Hi Terry, at the moment the only site speed setting it adds is the option to enable compression. I hope to add more in the future, and if there is any particular issue you're stuck on, let me know. Thanks!
I've just checked the "add widget area under header nav links" in the header section of divibooster, but I can't seem to find how to configure it.
Please let me know. Thanks :)
Hi Karrie, from your WP dashboard go to "Appearance > Widgets" and you should see a new widget area called "Header" has been added on the right hand-side of the page. Add some widgets to this widget area (as you would the sidebar) and then when saved, reload your page. You should then see the added widgets showing up below the nav links. Hope that helps! Dan
Questions before I purchase:
1.
Does Divi Booster enable the ability to make social media links in the header and footer open in a new page/tab (target="_blank")?
2.
Can I activate/add the additional social links and icons included in divi but not exposed in the builder?
Thanks
Hi Craig, yes to both of these:
1. The option you need is on the Divi Booster settings page under "Site-wide Settings > Icons > Open social media icon links in a new tab"
2. You can add the additional "hidden" icons from "Site-wide Settings > Icons > Add more social media icons". There is also an improved social icon manager under "Divi > Theme Customizer > Divi Booster > Social Media Icons" which offers a selection of 160+ social icons.
I don't know why but this site is not allowing me to change the bottom bar:
http://www.artsalivebarrington.org/
I can't understand why it's putting the site url in before the link I want :/
Hopefully someone can help.
Hi Karrie, I've already spoken to you on email and understand that this is now working for you.
Just for everyone else's benefit, a few things to try if they're having the same issue are 1) clear the browser cache, 2) add "http://" or "https://" at the start of the URL if missing, 3) convert any stylized "curly" double quotes in the footer link to straight double quotes.
Thanks!
I'm wanting to easily decrease the space between the Menu items, and the Menu bottom border in order to get rid of a little bit of dead space between the Menu and my page content. Can Divi Booster do that?
Hi Jay,
There isn't currently an option for this in Divi Booster. I'll look into adding it in the future, but in the meantime, you should be able to reduce the space between the menu items and the bottom of the menu with this CSS:
#top-menu > li > a { padding-bottom: 20px !important}
Just adjust to 20px to the padding you want. You can add this CSS by pasting it into Divi > Theme Options > General > Custom CSS.
Hope that helps.
Does Booster work with Extra?
Hi Nicolai, while it's not explicitly designed for Extra, the overlap in some of Divi and Extra's functionality means that Divi Booster will run on Extra and some (but not all) of its features will work. This post explains in more detail:
https://divibooster.com/is-divi-booster-compatible-with-the-extra-theme/
Can you please remove the from between the et-social-icon "li" elements that are added via the Divi Booster Customizer area? Also it would be ideal if you could do similar to what Divi does, and add a "span" with the social media's title/name, so that it works better with screen-readers. Thanks!

Hi Jon, It looks like it got stripped for your comment, but I assume you meant remove the " ", right? I've removed it in the next version of Divi Booster (2.5.2). Note that I've added a bit of right margin to the icons to maintain the same gap. I've also added the span with social media's name. I hope that helps, and thanks for the suggestions!
